Eating Disorders in Adolescence: How to Recognize

Hosted by The Studio By Angi Salon & Boutique

November 22, 2012
Have you ever been to the Studio by Angie?

I have seen it many times and always wanted to go in; this time I stopped by and boy was I glad I did!

It started with a t-shirt.  A frind of mine has a t-shirt with "Life is Good in Almaden Valley" across it.   She bought it at the Studio.  I had to go.  I entered a spacious room filled with beautiful sweaters, tops, scarves, hats, jewelry....my heart was racing!  Then I was pleasantly greeted by Jill Amen, one of the founders of the Studio.  We immediately hit it off.  She helped my find the t-shirt I was looking for and told me a bit about what the Studio has to offer.

The Salon, a team of seven talented hair styists with full hair and make-up services.   Preston Skin Center, lead by internationally renowned esthetics expert, Douglas Preston, whose specialties include aging and acne management.  The boutique, which features clothing, jewelry accessories, home decor, children's gifts, heart and soul gifts, handbags, health and beauty items and paper goods.  Many are created by local artisans.  All here at the Sudio in Almaden Valley.

The Studio goes one step more, though.  They truly believe in making their place a community haven, a place for you and me to stop, browse, pamper, congregate, socialize and learn.  They offer classes, community and social events.  During the summer they hosted produce shares.  Monthy they hold sip & shop evetns where you can relax and shop over a glass of wine.   Often they hold self-improvement seminars, some that target teens and adolescents.

On December third, at 6:30PM, the Studio hosts an Eating Disorders seminar: Eating Disorders in Adolescence: How to Recognize and Find Solutions.  A team of experts from Standford University will talk about eating disorders for both males and female teens; sharing their definitions, assessments and treatments.  If you are interested in attending this special event, please call 408-997-8151, as reservation is required.

More community classes are coming soon, so stay tuned.  And, next time you pass by the corner of Almaden Expressway and Camden Avenue, stop by the Studio.  You'll be glad you did.
